North Hoyle comprises the following components:-
- 30 wind turbines in around 12 metres of water. Each turbine nacelle is
around 67m above mean sea level, and the rotor diameter is 80m
- Meteorological masts. There are 2 masts at North Hoyle,
the first is 50m high and was installed in 1999, the second is 67m
high and was installed at the same time as the turbines
(both heights measured above mean sea level)
- Subsea cables totalling 38.3km in length, used to connect the turbines
together and to carry the electricity generated to shore
- Grid connection into an existing substation in Rhyl,
to transfer the power generated into the national electricity network
